Who is Jesus?
When Jesus asked His disciples whom men thought He was, He received several different answers. But Simon Peter had the correct answer. Simon said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16)
Jesus is the Son of the living God. As God’s son, Jesus came to earth to live among man, that man might know the unconditional love of the Father.
All of us are sinners. We all make wrong choices and decisions that separate us from God. In spite of our best efforts, we still commit sins. There is no way we can have a right relationship with God on our own. Jesus paid the price for our sins and ransomed us from Satan’s hold. His blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.
When Jesus rose from the dead, He demonstrated the power of God over death and the grave. By placing our faith in Jesus, we receive a new life in which our sins are forgiven. We start life over living, under his love and forgiveness. The bible calls us new creations. (2 Corinthians 5:17) We also receive the gift of eternal life. This means that when life in this world is over, we will enter into God’s presence to live forever.
Who is Jesus? He is our savior. He is our redeemer. He is the true life-giver!
