What We Believe
We believe the Bible to be the Word of God and relevant to our lives today. (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. (Matthew 3:17)
We believe in the Trinity – God, three in one – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 5:3-4)
We believe the Holy Spirit is sent from the Father by the Son, infilling those who ask, and empowering the church to serve in the Kingdom of God, the same as He empowered the first church. (Acts 1:8, 2:38-39)
We believe water baptism is an outward sign of inward change, and those who have been born again by accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior should follow Him in baptism.
We believe in God’s total healing power, manifested through the prayer of faith, for the body, mind, and spirit. (James 5:14-15)
Who is Jesus
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” – Matthew 16:16
Jesus, fully God Himself, was sent to Earth by the Father, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, rose again, and ascended back to Heaven. One day He will return to Earth.
We are all born sinners, making wrong decisions that separate us from God. On our own, we cannot come into a right relationship with God the Father. Jesus became the perfect sacrifice – His perfection became our sin so we can become the righteousness of God through Jesus. (2 Corinthians 5:21) When Jesus rose from the dead, He demonstrated the power of God over death and the grave. By placing our faith in Jesus, we receive a new, eternal life in which all our sins are forgiven, we are a new creation in Christ, and when life in this world is over, we will live forever in God’s presence. (2 Corinthians 5:17, John 3:16)
